Mathcasts are screencasts (screen movies of writing with voice) that focus on mathematics.  It's easier to understand what mathcasts are all about if you experience one or more of them.

The term mathcasts was suggested by Mary Marotta.  Mathcasts were originally called math movies (1997) and then Whiteboard Movies"(2001?) by Tim Fahlberg.  Jon Udell coined the term screencast. Jon interviewed Tim Fahlberg about mathcasts in September 2006.
